Touch my heart, not tough...I've got to watch the auto correct...comes up with weird stuff. Pog, I love to swim! Unfortunately I am thousands of miles away and our ocean water is cold! There is a nice pool in town but it is $6 for every time you use it. Hawaii is the place to swim Smile

Just wanted to say thank you again to everyone. I was blown away by the responses and they are helping me though a rough time, but much more importantly, as you have now seen, they have touched Pam and that is by far and away the greatest thing that could have happened. Pam has spent a lot of time visiting the island (and me!) in the past but unfortunately we've had to stop that for the last couple of years because the experience of doctors here just wasn't up to the medical conditions Pam has suffered. It's very unfortunate but it's also just a reflection of life on a small island where you simply aren't going to get the same expertise you can get in a place like LA for instance. I should also add that we have experienced some excellent doctors here who really knew their stuff and we are both grateful for that, but we also experienced the other side including a spectacularly poor ER doctor in Maui.

In any case, I do hope I can get Pam back here soon and maybe she can say thank you to everyone in person!

Wouldn't it be great for the two of you to be together again! I hope the dog problem is solved by then so "beepbeep" (your wife..lol) won't be in danger. And, Pam, it was great to see you post on here too!

pog - you're right. The post has gone. Wasn't thinking. If you want to delete yours I'll delete this one. No need to respond, I'll check.

Just a quick update. Pam has had further tests and the diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) has been confirmed. As you can imagine she is very distressed but we had a good chat this evening on the phone and hope she feels a little better after that. I told her about all the thoughts and prayers people have for her here and that cheered her up immensely, so just wanted all of you to know that. People at work have also been incredibly supportive almost to the point of me losing it once or twice on Friday, but you know us Brits - stiff upper lip and all that.

We still don't know the cause but I'm very hopeful this isn't dementia, she's too young for it and just this evening Pam mentioned a few of the medications she's on that might cause something like this. And for anyone who even thinks of posting a contrary view about modern medication, these are medications that have kept her alive, let me be very clear about that. Without them she would not be here today.

Anyway, I'm not sure if Pam will be posting again soon, but I did ask if she wanted to send a message via me, and she did. It was a big thank you to everyone here. It means an awful lot to her (and me) that there are so many people thinking about her especially given most if not all of you have never met her. In fact that was even more special for her, so thank you again.

Now I think I'll just have a little cry and get it out of my system!

Tom, I don't know you or Pam. But just reading your posts, I think she's very lucky to have you on her team. You're a good man and no doubt she's a wonderful lady. Best wishes to both of you.
