Ask Detroit how that union thing worked out for them.
Also ask the local sugar and pineapple workers.

People who repeat corporate "anti-union propaganda," (just lies and more lies), are the DUMBEST primates on earth.
Bingo, Yatzee, that is correct ONESELF. This is why most on welfare are not complaining, or why there are ablebodied people who are smarter right now to sit home and collect than WORK. Even these older folks don't get it. There use to be ways to help yourself through college by working these low-end minimum-wage jobs. Now that colleges have tripled in tuitions and other associated costs, These kids today can't save enough during summers or after school to make much of a difference. Yet for most of the old timers they are fine with all this because they still remember their hard frugal years. Well today is a day that many around our country will stand for something they believe in, Most Others who were fortunate enough to be raised during THE 40'S, 50'S, 60'S, 70'S or 80's and had been able to save back then at $5.00 an hour won't care. So if everyone is trying to make ends meet to pay bills or put food in your kids mouths, and you had two choices, 1) Go to work 40 hours a week by hele-on-bus at $ 7.25 an hour = $ 800 take home a month. OR 2) Stay at home and receive $1200 ebt, $ 850 county housing, receive cash assistance, health benefits, Helco deductions, even go back to school ect ect ect.. Anyway most have to choose #2, They end up swallowing their pride, giving up on dreams, and start filling out those forms that will change them forever. Easy to get on the welfare system, almost impossible to get off. I will be out today with signs and voice in support of raising the wages for most of the jobs in this area. Not for myself, but for the next generations. My parents protested for things they believed in yesterday. Now I will take the torch and protest for tomorrow. P.S These folks who are on the system bringing in 3 times the amount of a full time job would rather work for it, if it was equal or worth working for.

problem is many of the middle jobs are gone - either shipped overseas - or replaced by computers...even corporate telephone systems are automated..... the better jobs just arent here
as a side note I read only 4% of self employed folks are on ebt... we are becoming a nation of consultants and contractors - the "service economy" we have long been spoon fed.
i dont know if you have read the reports about systems coming soon to process your drive through order to the kitchen via a call center in india - can auto hamburger machines be that far off?
many employers are over it - just send us a machine......

The dumbest primates on earth, uh? I would have to disagree and say someone with a broad generalization such as that is the one of the dumbest primates on earth. A person who basically states "Anybody who does not agree with my views is the dumbest person on earth" really should take the time to look in the mirror.
Not to mention, you would think the people in front of Walgreens would try to find work after two years. I realize Walgreens probably enjoys the free publicity but I personally am tired at looking at them everyday.
How about Amazon now going to be using drones to deliver packages !
Anyways, If my only options were to work 40hrs a week and struggle or not have to do anything and make the same money, I cant knock them for taking the free money.
Welfare should be enough for anyone to afford to live, albeit a rough lifestyle, ramen noodle, but enough to get by. The idea is that is there to help people in short term who lose jobs stay afloat for a little while.
Minimum wage should be enough for people to live a better lifestyle than welfare, that is the incentive to get a job, and to live a better life. If there is no incentive to work, why would anyone ?
Minimum wage should be $10-12. The CEO's wages are ungodly. NO ONE. I mean NO ONE, has a job SO important that they should make 100,000X what some of their other employees are making. NO ONE. It is a crime.

100k plus jobs.....wait till you need an e.r. surgeon......or would you rather have the 20k a year guy?
welcome to capitalism
Whats wrong with making 100k ? I didn't say that. I said CEOS making 100k X their average employee. You know the guy making 30,000 a year, and they are making 30 Million.

Median income for this State is approximately $45K/year.
At $100K/year, you really can't complain much.
At about $160K/year, there's nothing left to complain about.
See above: average bank CEO salary is $550M/year; bank tellers are minimum-wage.
Ergo, the CEO "only" makes about 75.86 MILLION times as much.
Fair?
