YOu should get in touch with Melissa at "Yurts of Hawaii"... I'd definately buy something this big and complicated local. She also knows exactly what to get due to the weather here.

The ones that Melissa sells are not "made in Hawaii"- but she has put up many in the area and her office in volcano is in one of them- last I knew. I also think I recently read about an "affordable housing project" in Kona that was using Yurts. Just do a lot of research. It's a big purchase! Melissa can coordinate the entire thing, including building permits, if you want those. But, the problem that I ran into is that I am not "handy"- and "hate" working on anything- and I would have ended up paying as much as for a house - when all was said and done. Also, I wanted to do some kind of "ferrocement bottem, stem wall about 3 or 4 feet high, and the floor"- and I couldnt find anyone willing to deal with this either.
