kalianna,
Here’s another article on the subject:
Levels of air pollutants and warming gases over some cities and regions are showing significant drops as coronavirus impacts work and travel.
Researchers in New York told the BBC their early results showed carbon monoxide mainly from cars had been reduced by nearly 50% compared with last year.
Emissions of the planet-heating gas CO2 have also fallen sharply.
But there are warnings levels could rise rapidly after the pandemic.

And another in the NY Times from March 22nd. Reports from Honolulu say traffic is down substantially, so probably some reduction in pollution there as well, although less dramatic as in larger cities:
In cities across the United States, traffic on roads and highways has fallen dramatically over the past week as the coronavirus outbreak forces people to stay at home and everyday life grinds to a halt.
Pollution has dropped too.
A satellite that detects emissions in the atmosphere linked to cars and trucks shows huge declines in pollution over major metropolitan areas, including Los Angeles, Seattle, New York, Chicago and Atlanta.

Wonder if crimes will be reduced as well. Maybe the offset will be crimes committed while being pent up with each other.....

My assumption is that traffic is down so much that deaths from traffic accidents have dropped far more than the deaths from the virus have increased (at least over all of the US, not just looking at Hawaii)

Map with slider compares pollution levels in Hawaii and around the world between December 2019 & March 2020. Big changes around the world, but Hawaii shows a relatively clean atmosphere above the islands both before and after the COVID-19 outbreak.

The International Cricket Council has opened up its archive of classic cricket matches since 1975. Wonderful! This will keep me going for weeks...

Oops, wrong forum. Maybe the NFL and MLB will do the same.

Getting to read a lot of books. Watched "Picard" and "Star Trek Discovery" (streaming free for a month from CBS All Access right now).

Yesterday I set up an inter-continental coffee klatch for several close friends, some of whom I haven't seen in years. We did a Zoom call. Zoom appears to have dropped its 40 min. limit. Felt so good to laugh!
