HALarry, ha ha ah ha, it is a good program don't you think! LOL
Just a pet update, the domestic Bengal breed after being accepted in Hawaii since 1991 has been removed from the accepted breed code list at the Dept. of Ag pet quarantine branch. Evidently you cannot trust the information found on the government web site as accurate. Be sure if you are importing a pet to get the ink dried on all documents.
It was a typo? So I am advised, a 15 year typo? Go figure amigo. Whose pet is next?

Just an update on the continuing saga of the "Cat Chronicles"! LOL
Well we have on board now a high octane "professional scientist" of renown who just happens to actually know the originator of the breed. 1963 UC Davis was the beginning of the breed and now we have someone of acclaim to address our issue.
Wish us luck and send any and all prayers, and or donations, from any and all religions, cults or clubs!! LOL beats cryin in the wind, wringing hands and stewing.

Would it make any difference to the powers that be if these kitties are already on island? I ask tis 'cause I really think that our stray has a good part of your kitties hertitage (based on coat, waterdog pursonality, arboreal nature, use of paws, et al.) If the B-cat hertitage is here anyhoo, what dif. would a couple of others make? I have no proof that ours has this hertitage, but.....just a thought (of course, if she is & the POWERS find out, our kitty may be sent away!

I believe there are already many bengals in Hawaii that are known about...seems so backwards they would omit further importations with all of the paperwork, etc. you have to go through. I mean, even if they are spayed/neutered...what would the difference be? Not like you're gonna do a reverse neuter or something!

There are many domestic Bengals in Hawaii. More than likely 500 or so. They have been allowed into the state since 1991, but in 2006 someone pointed out that they have a hybrid origin from the ALC, a 7 pound Asian Leopard cat, nocturnal and shy.
Well the cat is out of the bag and people panic when they hear hybrid and the cat is removed from the list, where is accidentally got put on?? go figure.
This is such a mainstream domestic pet now a days that it is used in advertising with Eukanuba, Science Diet, McDonald's kids meals (now there is a reason to be concerned! LOL) to name just a few. The amount of wild is so diluted out after the one initial cross. that it cannot even be located by blood tests. They are domestic short haired cats which have patterns of strips, and spots. No more scary than a Siamese, or a Persian or Felix.
Cary do not worry there are no plans to rip them out of the loving arms of their owners, their travel is just impeded, no going in or out of the state currently or in the foreseeable future.
Who has an update of the brazen people trapping pet cats, on the pet owners property, and then taking them to the pound? What was the purpose of that move, isn't that theft?

The Cat Chronicles continue, and no great news but working on it.
Jerry Carr was perhaps going to the transfer station and ask about the cats being fed there. Any news Jerry?

You know this is my first forum, when I joined a forum on yahoo groups my regular screen name wasn't enough letters, so there you go I needed a new screen name with more letters. I like huli huli chicken the sound rolls off the tongue in such a fun way, I adopted that name. Of course now I know several of the definitions for huli and not all are the greatest. So there you go witness protection service for me! LOL

Mongeeses (Mongooses?), coquis, mosquitoes, mangroves, rich white ladies with too much bling.....Hawaiians are just being really careful about what they let in, out of concern that they will take over an ruin the delicate balance.
Sounds like you just have an unusual cat, so education might help.
