A GLORIOUS demonstration

Consider the rights of others before your own feelings, and the feelings of others before your own rights. John Wooden

Whether or not you approve or disapprove of GMO's - no one had the right to destroy this man's crop of papaya.

CFB483 - if you were as adamant that this was a correct action, and all the rest of your postings on this thread - you would not be on the internet - as your desktop/laptop when they die are poor for environment, the battery disposals have issues, you use power to be able to electronically connect which uses fuel. Phone line run if you are on DSl has much fuel consumption in the material mfg and installation process, along with the materials used to mfg the lines themselves. So although you have (environmental) sins, you are willing to throw rocks anyway. I'm just saying.... who knows how you live your real life?

Frankie - good work !

Carey - Thanks for always posting info.

Greg - bicycle war! I love it! Maybe that is a new tourist environmentally friendly idea - rent tourists from the boats bicycles! With those wafting streamers on them! [Big Grin] and baskets in front for your bunny.

People are assuming a lot of things here. The only facts I see are that a farmer's livelihood has been destroyed. The rest is speculation.

Assume the best and ask questions.

Did you actually mean vacuous instead of vapid?

Cat, we've already ascertained that CFB has trouble finding his dictionary.

CFB, if someone thought that cars were polluting Mother Earth and therefore decided to slash your tires, that would be okay with you?

When you get here and start vandalizing other people's property, be sure to announce it to the press beforehand so that the huddled masses can learn from your shining example. Or are you one of these brave souls that only incites other people to violence?

I was not saying that you had a car.
I was not saying that cars are not pollutants.
I was not saying that you used the term "Mother Earth".
It's called using an example.

Let's put it another way. How would you like it if someone destroyed something that you owned, simply because they happened to believe it was the right thing to do? I'm inclined to say: believe what you want, just don't touch anybody else's stuff.

By the way, if you're able to live in Puna without a car, then I'm impressed.

As for violence, yes, sometimes it is justified, but only in very very extreme situations.
It does not apply to cutting down someone's crops because you disagree with how they choose to grow them.

I don't care what you do and don't own. Or does that explain your disdain for other people's possessions?

Since you don't seem to be able to grasp examples, how about:
What if someone came up and smashed your cell phone (which you mentioned in another thread) because they thought cell phones are somehow bad? Would you stand back and applaud, or would you tell him to keep his opinions to himself?

Walking six to twelve miles a day is no big deal. Living in Puna without a car is. You'll find that out soon enough.

I've already asked you how many people GMO has killed. Still waiting for an answer.

By the way, since you consider cars to be evil polluters, will your sabotage campaign be including them? You're not going to be too popular!
