Calling punaweb a swamp? Perhaps not, but apparently someone with real estate connections, or in the real estate profession, posted the following on an anti-punaweb thread on another similar site: "I only post in real estate related threads there, but I might see the day when the turds will challenge me on that too!"
I'm sorry you found that offensive, I actually thought it was a compliment!

Purposefully derailing post ahead, with non-puna related topic of heroism to show Punawebbers to not sweat the small stuff and it only takes a second to do something nice for somebody else:

I suggest punaweb members take a look on Lack's blog and on puna-on-line for all the comments of support by both John Rabi and Kapahocat. (BTW Rabi's name is "FUK U", very professional, ya?)
They both have posted on THIS thread acting like attacking is not ok. Go read their encouraging statements in response to the attacks on punaweb members. Hypocrites.
On these both these sites They support disparaging attacking statements about punaweb members and punaweb.
Don't believe me? Their comments speak for themselves. Go read their responses on the other blogs.
I really hate hypocrites.

I have been on this forum for over 4 years and it has been very helpful for me and my partner in our transition. Some of the members used to get together for a "Punaweb Party" about once a year. At this
point I certainly would not entertain that thought. I can't stand it
when ugly people sit around getting ugly with people of thier community. Knock it off will ya? Life is too short!

Since I was the person responsible for the post that led to this topic, I would like to apologize to the members of Punaweb.I am occasionally guilty of posting while intoxicated. The other night when I read KathyH's post about her car getting attacked by bees,I lost it.I was reading that post with my beer goggles on.
I really didn't mean to call all of the posters nitwits.

People on Punaweb can either choose to participate on other forums or not, it's a free country after all. But people really should refrain from using Punaweb as a place to take people to task for activities on other forums. Punaweb and Punaonline are different worlds with some common members, if you don't like what is said over there, then don't read it, or post a reply ON THAT WEBSITE, not here. It is hypocritical to read posts over there and then post about them here, but not there.

Orchidlandguy, I am so sorry you feel that way.
I guess you missed this post of mine today on PunaOnline which resembled the one here: http://punaonline.com/smf/index.php?topi...48#msg4348
Punaonline is a completely different style and type of forum, and the subject base is much broader than just Puna/Hawaii. Yes, there are many things that are more politely discussed there than here except for any thread about Punaweb. Two years ago, I would not have said that. And honestly, the caliber and tone of punaonline is considerably more articulate and respectful than threads like these now. I guess you missed where I told Damon on one thread on Punaonline about PunaWeb to move on and let the anti-punaweb sentiments go. So let me see - I post a heroism link here, and also tell PunaOnliner's to move on. How exactly is that hypocritical? And yes, I did say I was trying to not poke Punawebbers and use Tom's name.
Almost every thread here deteriorates to mud-slinging in some form. Only one or two on PunaOnline are mudslinging and they are usually about the mud slinging here.
I feel honored that you now categorize me in the same bracket as John Rabi, wish I had his sense of humor and financial sense too. John is a nice guy who has been around the block and world, and pretty funny to boot.
On Tom's Blog I rarely comment unless the cartoon is really funny these days. I had a long chat over the phone with KathyH, and told her I would not comment on ones he posted about her. Now if you are the ass that commented on his cartoon that just went in and annihilated his chicken not a cartoon, yes I did ask Tom if he pissed you off and dated your wife?
So in the immortal valley girl words:
Have a nice day.

Hey Brightness! It's not "FUK U." The name is "Fook Yew" and my avatar is "Phuck U"! I guess you never heard of the "Phuck U Symphony" (available on CD) or the "Fook Yew" restaurant either! Google them (if you can spell them) before you talk about "professionalism" that you sure don't know anything about.

Carol, it is not hypocritical. There is a good reason not to post on any forum where Damon, Tom, and mdd/Mark C have access to the logs. Here is what happened when someone posted something that Tom couldn't handle.
The person's IP was posted publicly, along with all the identity info they could find. Then mdd/MarkD suggested that Tom should retaliate by using a hacker move -- malicious ping flooding -- to run the person's cell phone charges up and slow down his network usage. He posted that he had already started the process.
And if KeaauRich HAD actually posted that comment on Tom's blog, they would have done it to him.

mdd is still allowed to post here on Punaweb under a new and undisclosed username.
Anyone who goes to either Tom's blog or Puna Online and tries to have a discussion about the situation, they will use the IP number in whatever malicious way they can.
btw, no one on Puna Online said a word to mdd about this behavior. Silence is tacit approval.
Of course they all get along fine over there. They channel all their hostility into obsessing over Punaweb. A group that is connected as much by the bond of a hate they hold in common as anything positive ... a few members do not share the Punaweb obsession and ask them to let it go, Devany, oink in particular. I admire them for it.
As to why read -- it's all one community. It's public discourse. If your name is being trashed repeatedly, it doesn't fix the problem to pretend it isn't going on.
Plus the problem comes over here when a POL member does something to bait Punaweb and they sit back and "get out the popcorn" and enjoy the sight of people getting worked up.
I'm sure there are lots of Punaweb members who have no idea this is happening.
