Have no idea who did it, but someone in the "Ashley 4 Puna" campaign had the guts to ASK WH Shipman Ltd for permission place a very large campaign banner over the Kipman lease sign adjacent to the HMSA building, at the intersection of Pahoa-Keaau & Old Volcano across from the new Longs going up...
OR
Someone in her campaign REALLY has balls & screwed her campaign sign right over the WH Spiman Kipman lease sign....

Not totally sure, BUT....
Well, hopefully they asked... Pissing on a large Puna landowner would not be in the best interest of a campaign!.

Wouldn't "getting permission" mean Ashley was in Big Shipman's pocket?

Shrewd move, considering Shipman basically controls Puna.

Based on HOW the sign is posted, I am not really sure that is the way I would see it, Kalakoa...
Totally not like most everything I have seen WH Shipman do.. sign is off-center & the print of the lease sign is showing on the edges... totally not the quality of presentation that I have seen in the Shipman work in Keaau...
So....
maybe A is not in their pockets... & maybe someone in the campaign is just not all that shrewd & maybe just an A!!

Is the sign still there? If Ashley's campaign didn't ask, it would probably be gone by the end of the first day, which is coming up soon. Ohara has made noises about building a road through Shipman's agricultural lands, and they don't want it. That seems odd since it would increase the development potential of said land, but they have been pretty consistent in pushing for a mauka, not makai, alternate route . . . if one is ever built. As far as Shipman controlling Puna goes, yes, they are powerful, but Greggor Ilagan had their backing against Ruderman, and he lost. Ohara's road won't be built whether she is on the council or not, however, for reasons that go beyond Shipman. Still, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Shipman backs Ashley.

Not only is Kimo demonstrably wrong, I've yet to understand the mentality of those that use an internet site provided for them for free but use it to insult the person who did it. Is there a special place of internet hell where these people will end up? Or perhaps the place that spawned them?

geez, kill the messenger y not, all i said was how people referenced him in the community development plan meetings and i get internet hell. wow.

increase the development potential of said land

Roads will be built in Shipman's "New Keaau", already Urban per State Land Use -- as far as Shipman is concerned, Puna is Keaau and the industrial park, the rest simply doesn't exist.

Kimo complained once again:

"geez, kill the messenger y not, all i said was how people referenced him in the community development plan meetings and i get internet hell. wow."

Maybe you should revisit your posts. That's not what you wrote, and if you just want to insult someone then maybe you should understand you might get a bit of flak in return. You're hardly in a position to complain.

"internet hell"?

Please grow up.
