i'm always amazed that anyone would try to defend this terroism, why don't we all roll over and let them bust down our doors for no reason, well maybe i better check out the (un)patriot act, it's probably legal.

OK, since it's illegal to grow pot as a crop,
(1) Don't grow pot (2) You won't get your house raided and all your pot plants torn up. This is a difficult concept for some to grasp, but read my advise slowly and carefully. It works 99% of the time. Aloha Richwhiteboy "It takes only one drink to get me drunk. The trouble is, I can't remember if it's the thirteenth or the fourteenth."- George Burns

There is an important grain of truth in the article: MJ might make people quit their jobs.
I have come to the conclusion that the main distinction between legal and illegal drugs is this: illegal drugs are drugs that interfere with productivity or which do not grease the wheels of commerce. Caffeine? Okay. Alcohol? Fine, good for business lunches, relaxes everyone just enough so that things get done. Elavil? Happy workers are productive workers? MJ? Heck no, promotes lassitude and a relaxed approach to life. I think that is where the line is drawn, very roughly: does it enhance productivity?

I agree with Mella. Private property means you have no control of what your neighbors choose to do or not do. Personally, as long as they're not creating a real nuisance, I'm content with that arrangement. I think it's misguided to blame neighbors who are (or might be) growing the wacky weed for this invasion of privacy by law enforcement. I'm not arguing with the laws right here, I'm saying that this is an unacceptable means of enforcing them. It causes a loss of privacy and the right to peaceful enjoyment of private property to citizens who are not implicated in any crime. Our tax money goes to fund these programs, therefore as a community, we should have some say in the matter. Furthermore, I don't think it would just end if we could all somehow convince our neighbors to "be good". It's about the money. If you follow that then you'll know who to blame.

I have heard that it is not very difficult to obtain Medicinal Marijuana card. If this is true, are those with legal cards and who are growing the legal number of plants being hassled and raided the same as illegal growers? What are forum participants thoughts on the med. mj laws?

This is a difficult concept for some to grasp, but read my advise slowly and carefully. It works 99% of the time. Sorry dude I read it real slowly several times but it just keeps gettin more and more like something I wanted to respond to. Did you even read LeeE post? Here's a thought why don't you read LeeEs post real slow and then just stand there and wait for the gov to take away one of your rights. Nobody here seems to struggling with the fact that Mj is illegal. Many people here don't smoke it but that have enough foresight to know when the gov. is intruding on our civil rights. And when they invade the growers civil rights (with YOUR tax money) they also intrude on the next door neighbors rights, who doesn't grow or smoke MJ. These MJ laws are a joke and they have created an enormous undergound criminal network. When these people fill up our jails and force our legal systems to short term jail terms for the real criminals like Paris Hilton (just seeing if your still reading) These criminals; Mother rapers, Father rapers and all of the other folks that you find on the group W bench end up back in YOUR society. That directly affects YOU. Meanwhile the wicked stoner is sitting in jail on YOUR tax dollars. He's fine cuz weed has know addictive properties. (although there are people that abuse it, and do have addictive natures). The bottom line is these laws need to be changed. Good news is that my state just passed a law, that was supported by the state police association, that says that the officer could ticket and release anyone, at the cops discretion, caught with an OZ. or less. All of the Cops they interviewed agreed with it and said it was good cuz they felt like they were wasting to much of their time on harmless weed bust. Wait until one of these heros crashes a helicopter into a neighborhood and kills someone over a few pot plants. Blessings, dave "Sometimes your the bug and sometimes your the windshield"

quote: Well, you got two different agencies ... One is the state and the other is the Fed. The state is the only one that recognizes medical MJ Cards. Tho, if the Feds find you Medical MJ, they can and will arrest you. You don't go to state courts but at the federal level courts... YeeeHa!!! Bottom line on this your much better off in a state court then a fed court. As for your rights... Yes, your property your home is your castle you need a search warrant to enter a home. Tho, if the officer dangles on a line, and doesn't touch your property then I guess they found a loop hole in the law. I am sure if half of the big island population got together and filed to get rid of helicopters invading on our rights then something might get changed... Until then enjoy the noise and people flying 25' over your house and property looking for MJ and whatever else you may be doing. I am surprised an accident has happened yet. Would be interesting to see what would happen if a copter crashed into a house and killed a few people...

With the county no longer supporting the program (green harvest), it will eventually taper off. It will take awhile due to existing support structure and networks that remain in place. I'm also sure there is some desire by some in positions of authorityv(County and Fed) to give a showing that it can continue without the county's support. But again, I'm sure it will eventually taper off without the county's support. Be patient.
