09-06-15 Hilo Kamehameha statue spear theft
#51

The missing two year old was taken by his non-custodial parent. In those cases they generally find the child and parent with family members, it isn't like this was a stranger abduction with a high risk of death or sexual exploitation. It is actually pretty hard to get cops to take these cases seriously.

Detectives are running forensic tests on the spear and continuing to canvas businesses looking for video.

Seriously, removing the spear was major uncool. But it seems more like a "prank" and less like a case worthy of it's own TV episode. Next time I hope they glue it in place or something.

Somewhat appears of drunken youth vandalizing at the park, chasing each other around with the spear until bored, then chucked it into the channel.
