I was thinking "Janet and John's Picture Book of Conspiracy Theories" but I think we're on the same page.

You can't be serious, really?
Conspiracy Theories? You'd think such an accusation would be recognized as passe by now and in general a real stupid accusation to be tossing around. Particularly when the governments coming semi clean about UFO's and it's plastered throughout the news? Not to mention the JFK documents that were recently released, etc. Or how about Durham's dredgings from the depths of the Potomac, recently?
With the way things have panned out on the Conspiracy Theory front, today's snide accuser of conspiracy theory infractions
will wind up tomorrow's jack-ass, pretty much guaranteed. SMH... LOL.

Hey Tom, the 70s called and want their cheesy CIA generated phrase returned.

Robs reply, I'll second. As per the 70s cheese that followed? LOL

And here we go - the earth is flat, we never went to the moon, aliens are visiting us, its really means it's, astrology is real, crystals cure every disease under the sun and the earth is only 10,000 years old, covid is just the flu and tin-foil hats really work.

You believe what you want, it's up to you. The weird thing is I didn't even accuse you of posting conspiracy theories, but you sure became very defensive all of a sudden.

Not at all defensive, I know what you were referencing. The point being simple, the phrase "conspiracy theories" is cheese and has been seriously disemboweled over the past half decade alone. Using it has become rhetoric that simply discredits the person using the term. It's just rhetoric blowing and poor form.

If you have an argument to counter a point then use it, blowing it off with a rhetoric based phrase like, Conspiracy Theorist, that at one time invoked discredit towards another is no longer effective. It makes the user of the phrase look bad today. Why? Because so many claims that were once labeled conspiracy theories are now fact.

There's a good read on the topic in the below link.

For example, instead of labeling a flat earther a conspiracy theorist, challenge yourself to provide an example as to why they're incorrect, one they can't provide a counter argument to. I've countered their arguments in the past.
One had unwingly provided an example that proved the Earth was semi-spherical without his notice. He claimed that because the day was longer at the equator than the night and using a globe as a model to show how shadows fall on sphere that it was impossible for the day to be longer than the night. Or to have day light for more than half a day anywhere on the earth or darkness for longer than half a day, etc.
Of course we see the flaw in the example model and how it was used.

I pointed out one aspect to him that his globe lacked an atmosphere and if he coated his globe with a tranparent layer that was semi scaled to the thickness of the Earth's atmosphere, he'd see the light would reach around behind the half section of sphere slightly where it was previously shadowed. I then explained to him how the atmosphere refracts sunlight and provided him with simple experiments to prove refraction existed. He left the flat earth nonsense behind after that and I left him with a few other proofs he could use to see the Earth wasn't flat.

Point being, share your knowledge, Tom. Be helpful and patient. Don't make an ass of yourself. See some crazy? Walk on by and ignore it or lend a hand, but it's senseless to slap them upside the head and a waste of your mind. You of all people should know better, that's my point.

lol, so this is the rock you guys are going to die on. Complete and blind trust in mega pharm and everything they say. So be it.

I cant hardly believe this is actually coming people who have lived in Hawaii for any period of time. Considering how negative everyone has been about the geothermal, flinging rockets into space, and telescopes.

Conspiracy Theorist, ... It makes the user of the phrase look bad today.

Oh, it’s become passe, maybe even mildly offensive?
Really, you find that persuasive?
Why not turn the tables on the name callers?  Like Green Bay cheeseheads began wearing cheeseheads, embrace the tinfoil hat!

Pretty darn sure there was a linked article there to read. Maybe you missed it?

Yes.
There was.
A one man’s opinion piece, which he‘s certainly entitled to.
However “conspiracy theory” is still listed and defined in all the dictionaries, even has its own Wikipedia page.  I don’t believe it’s described as archaic.

Beautiful sunny day here in Puna.  Glancing at the horizon with the ocean appearing higher than I am, either there’s a giant never arriving tsunami out there, I’m on the downhill tilt of a flat earth but what’s holding the water back? or, I’m gonna go with the earth is round.

Big parades, football games and now 53,000 people at an event attended by US omicron carrier #2.  Only 35% of residents in some areas of Puna thought to bother with a COVID vaccination.  Which worked on previous strains of the virus.  What kind of precautions can we expect will be taken by our district neighbors with omicron on the way?

The second person in the United States to test positive for the omicron variant had recently returned from an anime convention in New York with 53,000 other attendees. He has not recently been out of the country and was fully vaccinated.

Thank you anime for helping spread our new savior! It was an anime convention!

"1st confirmed case of omicron variant detected in Hawaii, state health officials say"

"The Oahu resident under the age of 65 tested positive for the variant with moderate symptoms and was previously infected with COVID-19, but was never vaccinated. State health officials said the individual had no recent history of travel, which indicates community spread."
