Also there are 2 lots in the absolute front corner of Seaview that just went on the MLS. What I wouldn't give to have those? And since apparently I'd have to give a quarter million+ for the 2 I'll make do with my little lot up the road.

Seaview is pretty awesome. I guess I am biased since I have a lot there. You might want to check Wyatt's building thread. He is in Seaview as well. Since it is so remote there is a real sense of community. It used to be very ramshakle but a lot of nice houses are going in. You mention children so you should know you are 25 minutes from Pahoa which is the closest school and nearest market/gas. The views are incredible and it's a quick walk to Kehena. I don't recall seeing too many children playing there but there must be some as there is a playground.
It seems like the Seaview site is never going to get updated. Atlanta/Pahoa

David,
Just where is Schmidt's subdivision? Not George Schmidt of Rainbow ice cream's subdivision, on Hawaii? The Unimformed! Mella mella l

Isn't Schmidt subdivision just a row of lots on the north side of hwy 11? Here's one nobody has probably heard of; Keone Gardens. I have a friend who lived there before the lava flow, it was across the Chain-of-Craters road from Kalapana Gardens.
