St. Joseph was the foster father of Jesus and Mary's husband. He moved them around alot (had some direction from the angels LOL)...but is the Patron of a Happy Home, Safeguard of Families, and Protector of Children. He is also the Patron Saint of Carpenters and Workers.

But that's okay, it's still going well. Once the Closing happens on Hawaii home...we'll get the container ordered and make our reservations for our trip HOME. It's a lesson in patience for me - something I don't have naturally - it's definitely an "acquired" thing on my part.
When I talk to St. Joseph - I'll add a note in for Cindy V and Tikiyaki too...hope our homes find new owners quickly and we are all happily enjoying some Awa on a lanai on the Big Island! LOL

Wow, Carolann, thanx ! I haven't been religious in a long time, but I just may bury a St Joseph here too...that would make me a bit of a hypocrite I suppose, but I WAS born catholic....

I'm not catholic. I believe that when you invoke someone's prescense they respond. You don't have to be any denomination to ask St. Joseph for help (or any other Saint). The statue comes with a prayer card and we said the prayer last night at dinner. My Mom IS catholic and wholeheartedly believes in St. Joseph. My husband WAS a catholic and really enjoyed the reading of the prayer, as did I.

Well the waiting is over for us...we sold our house! I never did get around to ordering a St. Joe statue, although I did include his name in a prayer or two
. Perhaps that was it, or maybe it was the price lowering, we will never know.
We are thrilled and giddy as our dream is becoming a reality. We hope to be in puna shortly after the 1st of October.

Congratulations msmoto! Right now I think being a Seller is the big hurtle to get over. And maybe for the next few years.
I swear, this forum drives me nuts sometimes! Kind of a love/hate thing. I want to know what my Forum Friends are up to, what is going on in their lives, what suggestions they have, what experiences they are…. well, experiencing! But the thing that drives me crazy is that we still have about 2 years to wait! When we learned about Puna Web Party last Feb, Deborah and I wanted to be there! The get together last May we missed by a week! The Puna Dive Club’s first gathering is tomorrow, we want to be there!

Congrats msmoto! I know exactly how you feel - a mixture of relief and excitement. What's so cool is that this thread had enough staying power to outlast your waaaaaiting and waaaaaiting. When will you be in Puna?

Carrie, thank you for the explanation of St. Joseph, was just teasing and shouldn't about such serious matters forgive me please! LOL you believe I was baptised in the Catholic church? Actually I tell friends I'm a Presbyterian, Catholic, Methodist, Lutheran Buddhist at heart, decided after I grew up a little bit! LOL
