what they call normal is, imho, some idea of an average in a world that is in a constant state of flux, so much so that the average doesn't represent what usually happens, but rather an imaginary middle between the different extremes that are more often the case. and, in my lifetime of observing weather here, january is a pretty popular month for draught conditions if there's gonna be any

NOAA long term forecast for Hawaii is for drought to worsen and persist throught the year. UGH!

on average yes... the last 5 years have been wet... so that as you said affects the moving average.

i tried that today! i poured concrete in hpp today and sure enough it started to rain, but only for 10 minuutes. Guess i should have poured a bigger slab!

Worked for me also. Started raining less than an hour after cleaning up. Have to pour another section tomorrow.
