Greetings from a potential resident.

My name is Susan and I'm currently looking for a home in the area. I will be there in the middle of July and hope to find my new home. If anyone can suggest the name of a trust-worthy realtor, I would appreciate it.
Would like an acre or two, small house with studio would be awesome. I have been to the west side of the island many times, but do not know the other side as well. Suggestions for areas with great weather, and lava areas to avoid would be helpful.
Looking forward to my new home...

You need to rent in Puna before deciding what and where you live!

My wife and I visited Puna several times before deciding to move here. Still we found a rental to give us time to learn more about the district. It is big. No rush.

It also depends on where you plan on working. Steve (terracore) and I love Volcano and own property there. I would live there in a heartbeat. But he works at the airport and in Kona so the drive is too long so we're buying (hopefully if the closing goes well) in Orchid Land. So everyone is right, we are renting in Hawaiian Acres on a coffee farm and it gave us time to get to know the area better (even though we only took about a week before we placed an offer).
