One of our next steps is to furnish our home. What type of furniture should we purchase for our new home? bamboo, wicker, or other... Where are some good places to buy this furniture along with beds, etc.? Better to buy on Island or ship in? Mahalo

Island Collection in the industrial area has the best selection of "tropical" furniture. the owner is Isaac, if you use my name for reference he will give you some discount. Kaloko Furniture in the same area is more expensive. The nicest furniture on island is at Koehnen's in Hilo.

Do you know if Island Collection or Kaloko deliver to the Hilo side? I can't afford Koehnen's and Furnitureland didn't have anything I wanted to live with. Mahalo, Carol

Carol, they both do. I have been referring clients to Island Collections for a long time, I bought my own furniture from them too. I believe they have the best selection and best prices on the island. I certainly wouldn't ship furniture from the mainland to here.

Every Year we buy somethnig special from Kaloko. First year was the teak four poster bed, then came the dining table of teak root and 1 chairs. Third was an awesome bar au natural of old teak and this year we got Bob a great easy chair. They deliver at no charge and have always treated us well. We love their stuff!
