Hi all! Just realized I never introduced myself in here - I've just been sneakin' around reading posts lol. My daughter and I will be moving to Hilo next month, so I've been eagerly reading and gathering as much info as possible. I absolutely love this website, and love that everyone is so helpful to one another. There are so many thing I am interested in doing/helping with on here, so I'll be posting a lot more when I am actually there! Aloha!

not to worry, hawaiiboundnelli. we've already introduced ourselves on that other forum. being that this one is about the big island/puna in general, i thought you would be able to gather tons of information from the punawebbers.
you'll find other familiar names here as well: hotzcatz, leilaniguy, cynmkolohe to name a few.

Aloha. I've been reading PunaWeb for over a year now. We've been making plans to make the leap from the mainland to Keaau, and after years of visiting and dreaming, we're gonna do it, in spite of the economy. If I end up poor, I'd rather be poor in Hawaii.

I'm sure I've met some of the Puna chatters as I recognize names etc. My partner and I are making a brief visit beginning Jan 1 through 10 to see the new house and start making move plans. By late April I should be there full time and we'll both be there by June. I'm sure to be participating more in PunaWeb and I look forward to meeting more folks from this forum.

This is awesome. I have some reading to do to catch up. Me and my guy are making the move in the 3rd quarter of 2010 (it is sooner than you think!). I have been blogging about our plans, ideas, thoughts and dreams so check it out if you have an opportunity and feel free to comment if you see fit or want to correct me on anything. I have already spoken to or had discussions with several people on here and discovered this topic just tonight and wanted to extend a formal greeting and meeting. BTW I am Blake and my boyfriend is Lynn and at least for now we are kind of leaning towards HPP. So yeah... hope to talk with you more!

Hi,
I'm Will. I'm squatting at my folks' place near Kurtistown while they get their place on the mainland sold. I'm "seasonally retired" from working in Antarctica and just enjoying all the verdure and freshies here until I have to go back to work (probably August, but undecided for sure). I've taken up surfing to occupy my free time, but I'm not getting very good, but having fun anyhow.

I like beer.

haven't updated my blog in a while, but you can get a glimpse of the world from my eyes at: http://www.vagabumming.com

Well, since I never officially introduced myself, I thought I should. Because Oh Duh, I didn't realize this forum was here. I read gardening/farming for months. As soon as reasonably possible after our WA house sells, my partner Cory and I will be streaking towards Puna. I'm both retired and real tired. I worked 26 years for a local phone company in CA. And then I took early retirement for medical reasons.

I am really looking forward to year round gardening and walking. 9 months of the year here I huddle inside with environmental support, heat/AC. Warm rain doesn't scare me. We are both into ham radio. He's a music fiend and I am learning guitar. I love reading and will probably find volunteer work to use up my paltry energy. Cory is really into alternative energy, and is salivating to do some hands on in our Puna home once we have one, whenever we get to be there. And I am so grateful for the information shared here! Thank you all. Peggy
