drilling holes

anyone have recommendation to drill holes for power poles in the mountain view area? any one recently put in the galvanized poles for "permanent temporary power"? i have heard 4 inch inside diameter, and 21 feet ( 21 feet out of the ground???) and also that i would need a copper ground??(5 or so feet of pole in lava is not a ground??) any info out there or recommendations? thanks!![?]

5 ft. concreted in the ground with a 21' (standard length)stick of gavanized iron pipe, 16'above grade with threaded cap top. Most backhoes with hammer or jackhammer or drill rig. If you are planning to run telephone line or cable tv, etc. check on County requirements.

Try Kevin at I Dig Hawaii. 217-6847 He Does these and should be able to advise on requirements. He did mention that you need a 6 inch pole if you plan to hang cable and phone. He has 10 inch auger and can drill 5 feet deep. Kevin is installing septic at Tonys. Joe

thanks joe! i will give him a call, i havent had luck so far on drilling. wonderful news that fellow punawebber tony is getting started, after some of his bad luck, he will be very pleased he has now found and selected you for this build. [Wink]
