just planted grass

it was some sort of bermuda it's growing in good but as I walk though it .... it seems to attract these small white fly type of bugs... There are a LOT of them... with each step about 50 or so fly. I'm wondering is this good for my grass? These seem to only live in the grass. They aren't black but grey/white flying/hopping bugs. What are these bugs? They don't seem to sting.

Should I get some bug killer? Or just let them be? I don't know but I thought my grass would be coming in a lot thicker by now. Hmmm...

Do you have any chickens? They won't rid you of such pests but they might help.
