clever names?

yes this is a silly/trivial thread. but, i'm curious: have you named your flock of chickens? ours are known as the henleys with only one individual having a first name. she's an aracauna and goes by the name cleopatra. the others are rhode island reds.

what about your other animals? some friends (many of you know them) named their cat, "cow girl." a very appropriate name as she looks like a holstein cow.

I like this thread; refreshing!

We have a sheep named "Teardrop" because of the black marking under one eye. She is too old to breed or eat... so she is really a pet. We have a cat named DOT because she has a spot on her butt, but Spot was the name of a previous dog and didn't sound catlike. We have a chicken named Henrietta who is now blended in with a bunch of Auracana chickens and I can't tell her apart.....

Then there is the Husband whom my parents nicknamed THE MEATHEAD when we were dating some 40 years ago.. does that count? LOL

We have several Anoles around and Ralph started calling them Fred.
They all have the same name.

They are not really pets but they are intersting to watch.
One of them sits on a a fly trap... Talk about room service!

We have Hazuki, a feral grey tabby found as a teen kitten. A neighbor 2 houses away said it was a Hazuki (August born) and that is his name.
Another feral teen cat was named Kea, not totally creative, as he is totally white, with crystal blue eyes, but he now has earned Mauna Kea, as he is on the rather large size.
And we have Kiko, a rescued red heeler with a big brown spot (kiko) patch over one eye.
We had a stray bengal looking cat that we named after her stripe & barred markings on her forehead -Kioki

very interesting all of you.

pam: i've been called many things, but never a meathead. maybe behind my back? i dunno? lol. cute name for your hen(rietta). i like spot, dot and teardrop, too.

ed: renee's grandfather was (al)fred; her father was (al)fred; her cousin is (al)fred; his son is (al)fred and his son is (al)fred. as with you, there are a lot of freds around. renee did have a dog named barney. no. their last name is not flintstone or rubble. but you get the idea. [Wink]

carey: kea is most definitely MAUNA kea. that's one big kitty! [:0]

Well let's start off with our potbelly pig we had named Elvis, we named one of horses Dc short for devil child. Had a conure only known as the evil bastard. I currently have a dog named kuma which is bear in japan. We have a macaw named pua (flower) and one named lava we have another named coco channel although she has know class unlike the real Coco Channel. Oh and let's not forget a horse we had named hammer head. He lived up to his large hammer head. Oh by the way don't curse your animal like that we had a dog we named smarty, well that had to be the worlds dumbest dog in the world.

Currently we only have a dog named Shiloh. Jessica the cat is recently deceased. Before that we had a cat named Meow and a pot bellied pig named Piglet. And then there was Wilburna, the wild pig I caught, but she should have been named Porkchop. I almost forgot. The Hedgehogs we had named Quills and Quillia. We aren't always real original with the pet names. Shiloh and Jessica were already named when we adopted them. They were sort of pound pets. We got them through the vet from homes that could no longet care for them. Meow showed up on his own and told us his name.

OH! I forgot long gone animals. Our favorite dog ever was GUMBO. Our friend used to sing Jimmy Buffett songs and he came over to rehearse one day and sang Gumbo to the dog.... it stuck. Bob named most of our pigs... we had Snack, Midnight Rations, and three girls named Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Oh, we are soooo bad.
