auto & motorcycle inspections in HPP?
#1
We stayed in HPP recently and will eventually be moving there. I noticed a car repair shop within HPP and was wondering if they can do the annual inspections on cars and motorcycles there? Seems like a super handy location for folks living there.

They most likely don't do motorcycles, I think there are only a couple of places doing bikes, both in Hilo. Stan's and Goodyear are two that I have used.

We just went to a shop - sorry, don't know name - just south of Maku'u on 130 - first right? - it's a little shop on the right right after the turn. They were really nice and cheap.

Car inspection fees are regulated by the State. I think it has been like $15 for years!

Ok. Good to know it's a set price. It's still real cheap to me compared to what we paid in Calif. - less than half. Then again, inspections there included smog check and could cost you big bucks for "repairs" if your car registered any fumes; here they only check brake lights, signals, headlights, etc.

Found out the name of the shop is Bob's.

I highly recommend Wally's Auto Body. 33rd off Makuu in HPP. $15.00 and it takes 5 minutes. No waiting.
