I recently bot a lot which had a 2008 building permit, but after bulldozing the owner got broke and bankroft, then i bot it and now i got it. There was a 2008 building permit but in old owner name. I'm living in temporary house unpermitted on the lot. Now what I want to do is: 1. get my electricity connected. 2. maybe build something permanent, could be i should just finish the plans they started, or maybe i want to make another plan. but i don't have their plans.
Can i get this old permit made into my name to be exceptioned by the HELCO? Can I get a copy of the old plans from the building department? Can I use the old permit even though it was 2008 before the bankroft? Thank you for this information and your consideration.

I suggest you go to the Bldg Dept and ask if the inspector has a set of the plans for that TMK #. Give them the Bldg permit # - (they probably will since it just 3 yrs old). They will lend it to you so you can make a copy. You may have to bring proof that you are indeed the lot owner now.
Helco currently isnt transferring power service without a redo of temp pole if it has been more than 1 yr since temp service installed. They want your licensed electrical contractor to put up a new pole. (Guess they had problems with old poles falling down). Then they will put service in your name.
And yes you usually can get the permit transferred into your name and use old permit when it is only a few years old.

You may also want to check with the owner you bought the lot from, as to wether they still have the plans (If the inspector does not have still have them).
If the permitted plans were mentioned as part of your sale, then they should have been included (and check the wording of the sales document, esp. if 'transferable' was used in relationship to the permit)

I was there a couple times now but the person never seems to be there who to talk to, and they don't answer the phone number I was given. When do i need to appear in the office if i actually need to talk to the responsible inspector? thanks again.

The inspectors are in the office till about 8:30 AM - the office opens at 7:45AM.
What subdivision is your lot in and I can give you an idea of who your inspector would be? or call 961-8331 and ask who the inspector is for your TMK #.
