PaulW,
A major defense contractor bought out the company, that’s a significant bit of info. Now let’s analyze your rationing here. Because there has been no more mention that YOU can find on the technology, it must have been worthless. We call these publicized studies, findings or papers. Many times such technologies are publicized and then seem to vanish with regard to further published information. There’s a reason for that and it doesn’t necessarily mean it was frivolous work. Many times the DOD and other agencies will make a contract with the technology holder after initial publishing that puts an end to allowing the work to be published. The work then becomes classified and nothing more is said until one day it then becomes declassified again, usually many years after the initial studies or claims were published.
If you think for one second that the Federal Agencies which have secured this technology are going to yak about it in a public manner and gloat over it… you’re sorely mistaken. Why would they divulge their operation plans and technologies? So the offender can find a way around it? LOL Good luck with that way of thinking and rationalizing Paul. This is about formulating and executing resolution, not gloating and bragging.
The technology is out there and in use here in Hawaii... Guaranteed.

Guaranteed? But how do you know?

Assuming the goal is to stop the growing of marijuana, then publicising the fact that they have a machine that can easily spot it would surely cause quite a few people to either give up on it or move it indoors, where it's found even more easily (by power use or heat radiation). You could be right. But these days, it's hard to keep anything secret.

O.K ... If something truely innovative and unique comes out. The government is gonna snap it up and shut every one up about it ... Neva' happend kine. I have something like that ... wonder how long I have to wait.

Ball busting Kane ... I believe you on this one. Only slightly pessimistic on why such a company would not pitch its product to the goverment first before letting it go public ? ... A way to drive the ultimate price/value up ?

Similarly, Isn't BP doing this with all the research scientists / studies in the gulf? Purchasing in the name of "funding" and then owning the results ?

Kane,

Why would the DEA use top secret military technology when infrared sensors and eyeballs work so well. Any Guerrilla grower knows it's not the plants that are spotted in the bush, but the trails. Follow the trail-find the plants.

Stealthy growers drag their plants under cover at the first sign of green harvest and move them back later. The feds get some, but that just keeps the price up.

When they first started using Helicopters 20 years ago, they would actually bring dump trucks into the neighborhoods and fill them up with plants. Now they just get pitiful handfuls; Yet there's still a glut of pot in Puna. The growers have moved indoors. Like any other War, the war on drugs is primarily driven by money-on both sides.

Paul, Why not announce the use of it? Imagine the negative benefits for the CIA, it does far more than find pot...

Greg, drive up prices… good work, you may have answered your own question. Perhaps Pedro in Salvador needs more income from his crops and perhaps a given U.S. agency needs something from Pedro?

Pog, it appears you’re seeing the bigger pictures now.

Wao,

quote:
Tomk,
This is beyond your background understanding. Aside from the wide range of instruments employed; this was a software matter and it’s already been solved.

Really? You don't think I might know a little more about the subject than you think? And could you enlighten us on the software problem and how it was solved?

Cheers,
Tom

Certainly Tom, I would be honored to explain it to you. Smile

Keeping in mind that you’re strictly into thronomeisters and Star Trek, it was solved like this. First there was a need to employ inertial dampers to solve the vibration issues. After that they were able to lock in on the Sub-quantum local space where they were able to measure the ZPE signature and synchronize the circuitry, effectively filtering out the background jitter. After passing this information through a flux capacitor, a software algorithm was established to decipher tachyons present in the emerging data’s event horizon. From this, they were able to unify the data with the pot plants through quantum entanglement giving them the ability to wave the data while effectively causing the pot plants to wave back in perfect synchronicity.

I hear the DEA’s next step is to replace the repelling ropes and helicopters with transporters. Leaving headquarters will no longer be necessary! Woooo Whoooo Tongue

Cheers?... Bottoms Up Bud!

Very amusing, Wao! I'm still intetested to hear about the software problem and how it was fixed though.

Tom ... I think you meant thronomister... as in "the gravitational thronomister in the inertial damper's primary coupling is malfunctioning."
