We passed!

Slightly (ok, a lot) embarrassed to admit it but I have no idea how to post photos. Thanks for all of the good wishes and Lord knows we need all the encouragement we can get![Smile]

Score another victory for us. We passed the latest general inspection and it looks like there really is light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. If I may offer any advice for any couple w/ the romantic notion of "building it all yourselves", don't, I repeat don't do it. It sounds great at 10 o'clock at night when laying in bed discussing the future but it is taxing on so many levels and unless you are in your 20's or early 30's the cost is just too high. I have heard of so many relationships busting up during construction and it is easy to see why. If you don't love your mate come hell or high water, don't even attempt to build anything beyond a doghouse together.

Royall here's the difference. Ralph, as you know is full blooded German originally from Germany. I am all American w/ a fair amount of Cherokee and Choctaw coursing through my veins (and at the moment some champagne as we just celebrated our victory). What that means, in plain ole English, is two of the most stubborn people in all of Puna. That coupled w/ the fact that Ralph seems to think that plans are merely "a suggestion" rather than, well, plans. I can't even express in words the relief I feel at having passed as I've been waaaay too worried that we wouldn't. Granted we spent the first three years playing, surfing and exploring but have for the most part been devoted to our task at hand. Among my first words to Ralph the day I met him were: Don't tell me when to get out of the water and we will get along fine. Twenty-one years later we've managed to reach a happy medium on both sides so surfing is for the most part a non-issue regarding housebuilding. Miss your smiling face and delicious bread!!!!!!!!!!!
