barns
#1
I am thinking I am going to need a building to keep my tools and materials in. Anyone have any experiance with these DIY steel barns? Anyone here on the BI sell these kits? Saw some on eBay that looked pretty good but the cost of shipping is around $3k.

No matter how thin you slice it, its still balony.

Hi,

When we needed a storage facility (tools, mowers, tractor, etc plus nursery media), we found the most cost effective was a greenhouse structure from Greenhouse Specialists with a scrim (very heavy, multi-layer) material on the roof. Entirely water-proof, 15 year estimated life-span. 6" walls, 30' X 24' size, though you can go any length you want. Went up pretty quick, and works great. Whole cost was around $3000 for materials.

Yup, we use a twenty foot container as a shed. I've seen some that have nice little roof caps on them, too so the sun and rain aren't on the container. We paid a lot less than $3K for it and it is huge and secure.
