It sure is after reading your posts.

You, Kane and I have three different opinions/speculations on this topic. You think it's not in use in Puna. Kane thinks it is in use in Puna. I think it's a possibility that it will be or has been used in Puna.

Can any of us prove our opinions? No, not at this time.

In reviewing your first post, you seemed to be leaning towards my view.

I skip one crummy day on Punaweb and you guys post three pages of hyperspectral flaming posts! Sheesh! First of all, Tom, if I thought it was gonna get me a tour of the Keck, I'd've started arguing with you months ago. Where do I stand in line for that kind of offer? Second, why is it that references to Star Trek and farming are so maligned in this thread? I loved Star Trek (TOS of course) and I've known farmers in my life that rivaled many a scientist in acquired knowledge. Third: hyperspectral in fact means "pertaining to a big" - "range of values" ... Or if you prefer, "pertaining to an agitated" - "ghost"... but assuming the former sets of root definitions, the inferred application of the term "spectral" to the electromagnetic range of frequencies is certainly within the bounds of the credulous. That sound waves are no longer being discussed is, therefore, I think, a conceded point. Stop bringing up settled points of debate. We spectators are not keeping score, we're just enjoying the blood sport of it all. And just as a professional farmer or athlete does in fact make money at his trade, a non-professional scientist (an enthusiast, if you will, like myself for instance) is perhaps as likely to offer pearls of wisdom in an amateur forum such as this, which requires no credentials for posting, as might a professional belly dancer, or a poet laureate, or a professor emeritus. Therefore, let us all rejoice in the democratization of knowledge, wherein everyone with an opinion may offer it, free of charge, to any other who wishes to peruse it. And the devil take the hindmost, and damn those blasted helicopters anyway...

DaVinci - just so you're aware, I did actually offer a tour of the summit quite a while back on this site. Only one person expressed any interested (who no longer posts here) so it never happened.

I find it interesting that in all of this not one mention of the Green 14. Some of them were responsible and respectable members of society that grew other things besides weed and had address signs.

I found it interesting that the DEA spent close to a million on payroll and toys to nab maybe $300K a year (collectively) 10-12 middle aged (almost senior citizen) pot growers? Honestly, wouldn't meth have been a better choice to go after? No helicopters needed. No special instruments needed. Maybe a drug dog would be handy.

I still dont see Roger Christie a danger to society and no reason for him to be refused bail. Pleazzze!

Kenneth Mathison could murder his wife (not allegedly - he was convicted), be out on paid leave from the HPD, and go to UH Hilo while he waited for trial.

Okay now I am on a rant - this is exactly why our Federal government runs out of money: stupid stuff like this. If you multiply this by 50 states = almost $50,000,000.

Sorry. Now back to regular programming.

Just an FYI to Wahine and Kane, I only read the first two words of any screen nic, so I will always get you two mixed up. OK, I really only read the first word, but if it's a Daniel or a Rob or a David I read word two to see which one it is. If the name goes to a second line, forget it. Wahine, Wao the first already has an association with that name, so why not pick yourself a name that expresses who you are? Otherwise you guys come off as a mutiple personality disorder in action. This topic is a nightmare.

Seriously, she says in her kind voice, pick a name that doesn't confuse folks with ADD?

Whoa, gone for two days and come back to 4 more pages bickering.

Kane and Wahine read and sound the same to me ... No need to differentiate.

Kathy,

Wahine here...(grin)

Kane picked the names for us when we first started looking at Punaweb. I've been lurking for quite some time on here, and with the different Daniel/Rob/David posts, I didn't think I'd be confused with Kane. I never thought about the confusion issue with the similar screen names until I started posting on the 'nightmare thread'. Would it help if I put in a signature line?

To head off any misunderstanding about identity or gender, my wife and I go by; "Spousal Unit, Male" and "Spousal Unit, Female".

No, sig lines annoy me (even the great sayings get old after so many times), so I make it a point not to read them.

I was suggesting that you pick your own name and be yourself. People here have changed their nics. Carrie comes to mind as someone who changed her nic even after having many posts on the forum.

It actually took me awhile to figure out what people were talking about with reference to two people. I thought maybe you were posting using Kane's ID. I even went back and reread the posts looking for some differentiation. It never occurred to me that more than one person would have a nic starting with Wao nahele. [Smile]

Kathy,

I wouldn't post under Kane's ID, and he wouldn't post under mine. (That would get Kane and I confused!) I'm still a Newbie and Kane's a Da Kine, perhaps that would help. Jungle Woman fits me...it's who I am now. I don't think there will be any more threads in the near future with both Kane and I making multiple postings. We do have different writing styles.

I will warn you...if I do decide on a different name, I will have a signature line with my original name. [Smile]
