And I don't see Hawaii County allowing a free pass once they find out.
I'd be a bit Leary of there output numbers, seem to be at the top end, well, better than my system anyway.

And just wondering how in hell HELCO would know about a private user?

When a neighbor added a PV system to his Helco $erviced home, his Helco u$age dropped. He wasn't grid tie, so there had been no contact/coordination with Helco. After a couple months of lost income, Helco showed up at his door to investigate.

Given the PV panels on his roof and the 2 windmills visible driving up the drive, I don't think they needed to be let it.

Alex, Our system came out to $5 per kwh, *legally installed* price... and that's before the federal & state rebates which come to 65% & will knock the price down to $3.25/kwh.
