Gotta go ... If you need more info about your husband please let me know

LOL...you're assuming we're married. Not all couples are married, pog.

I understood your insertion. You also added the following statement:I WOULD put up the "actions" word now as him dredging you into all this. Lame and cowardly as if he needs some kine back up.

I haven't defended any of Kane's posts or opinions on here.

Feel free to 'enlighten' me on information on Kane. So far you're 0 for 2. Not feeling very enlightened by your 'info', pog.

Talk about a lame response, pog. Now you're repeating yourself.

This thread had ended on a fairly good note until you went snarky on it.

0 for 3...still waiting for that fabulous info you offered to supply.
Oh, and I'm being generous with the 0 for 3...you've been wrong on more counts than that in this thread.

Go spend some time with your boy today and shake off that attitude.

O.K. either Kane.

Would you elaborate on what you mean by the below statement ?

This is probably unwise on my part...I have read bits and pieces of this 11 page thread..I am going to hang my @ss out here because it's what I do best.

Every single day I sit in my high stress IT world and dream about every one of you living my dream. I am too chicken **** to walk.

I don't smoke the bud because of my job. Can't chunk 75k a year over what nature provided. A couple of weekends ago I worked 9 p.m. to 11:30 a.m. processing files on an AIX server. Too much stress.

LeeE...you are my hero. It is an insult to Carl Sagan.

Broca's Brain by Carl Sagan is a good read.. It explains alot about why we act the way we do. I'll post as we get closer to the island. An evening of food and beverage in our HPP rental is open to invitation or your can come to beat my @ss for posting this.

Wake up tomorrow morning regardless of downed signs, helicopters, and whatever annoyances and know that if it was 1972 there would have been solidarity no matter our difference of opinion.

Some will come and some will go
We shall surely pass
When the one that left us here
Returns for us at last
We are but a moment’s sunlight
Fading in the grass
C'mon people now,
Smile on your brother
Ev'rybody get together
Try and love one another right now

Thanks Susan! Did you know that Jessie Colin Young lives here on the Big Island?

Anyway, The search and rescuing, utility line checking, eradicating helicopters are on a hiatus for now. We're down to the normal tour traffic. Maybe we can give this thread a rest.

Susan,

The first few sentences of your post could have been a fairly close description of me two years ago.

I wasn't in IT, but was (still am) in a high tech industry (Lots of stress). Got laid off with most of my department right before my 25 year anniversary with the same company...had three job offers within a week and was employed again. (VERY grateful for that!). Kane is self employed and already had the freedom to live anywhere. I was the one 'trapped' by my job. My new company lets people in my department work part time, and they can live where they want. After selling my house and whatever belongings we had that we didn't want to ship here, we moved to Puna so we could start building our house on our property.

As for the vandalized street sign...The old street sign was stolen. There's been a sign there for years. We offered to buy a new sign and supply materials to install it. It was vandalized twice within two weeks. Our neighbors were thankful for us cleaning the vandalized signs. We are on very good terms with all of our neighbors. We know some grow and/or smoke pot (we don't care about that).

I have lurked on here for over a year, and have seen a definite downward shift in the level of civility in certain threads.

I for one appreciate you hanging your @ss out there with your post. I hope you make it over here soon.

You realize that the pot growers probably weren't the ones who took down your signs, right? I guess I missed this part in the original post back 12 pages.

In fact, in HA a few years ago, some of the alleged pot growers were the ones putting up those new street signs that were then stolen. Up until July, pot growing had pretty much become a none issue... low priority crime, middle aged farmers, helicopters usually where just pulling up plants, nothing really was happening...

It was probably the meth heads. They are the paranoid ones.

My other half is the one who thinks it might be the pot growers, not me. (You did realize there are two of us?) SmileI hadn't formed any theory yet on who might have done it. Your theory about the meth heads is a good one.

Yes dear I did realize there was two of you. To expedite my response, and because you had never said anything to the contrary about it not being pot growers, I extrapolated that you too thought it was the pot growers.

My apologies.
