Importing non-native species - Turtle smugglers

You may take exception with a slight grammatical error but I take exception with the nasty name calling that started the interchange. This trend seems to be growing on Punaweb. I find it sad when I know that those hurling the insults are capable of a more reasoned argument.

I found the word hominem such an interesting one. Love when vocabulary is expanded. But did you mean "ad hominem attack", also known as argumentum ad hominem.

"i guess thats why you can say things like this without thinking about it"
That's even more insulting. He just tries to get a reaction. Don't fall for it.

In internet terms it's referred to as "Don't Feed The Trolls".

In my world I describe it as: "Just because someone puts a hoop up in front of you does not mean you have to jump through it."
Assume the best and ask questions.

Wow sounds like something I should have learned from my Mom. I need to remember that. It's right up there with if all your friends jumped off a cliff.......

Rob, I mean that in a complimentary way. [Smile]

Thanks Peggy,

Sometimes when I read 808's responses I feel jolted. Alot of what 808 says, on first reading, seems anti-intuitive and purposefully abrasively. But that could be said, at different moments, about just about everyone here.

Maybe that's the definition of a troll; having named 808 that is...I don't know...a little creapy. I wonder what I am....here?

I thought 808 must have had past experience like Rodney King or something and that 808s really knowledgeable about some technical things.

It takes some thought to really understand what you're trying to say 808. Maybe a little background information on why you take such a strong stand against enforcement; do you want fireants in your stove? And if there's a better system than the one that exists, what would it look like? This is rhetorical, but if you wish......

interesting that we seem to be in a time of man where display more concern and respect for the existence of animals than people .....

a sign of desperate times ahead imho

I'm just a little confused. Where has anyone stated more concern for animals than people. Even if that were the case, why should it be okay to treat animals poorly?
