My third trip to the Big Island....
#1
We're staying at our house we bought a while back in HPP.House was built in 1996 and the yard is all in.My wife and I are enjoying some wonderful fruit from our trees.Oranges, tangerines, limes, papayas........Fresh squeezed juice from these.Fantastic!!

We drove to Kona, as I hadn't been there before, and drove back the same day. That was a long one.Went to the beautiful Botanical Gardens today (in heavey rain). That was my second time there. We have a years membership there.

We're working on moving here within a year or year and a half if all goes well.

Today was the most rain we've experienced here. But we live in Puyallup, Washington where the rain can be pretty constant.

And, anyway, when it rains here it keeps our catchment tank full.

Yeah, and the rain is warmer than Puyallup!! I swear all the rain blows off the side of Mt. Rainier before it hits the ground up there!!

I'll take the warm rain any day!I came home from work about two years ago and it had been raining hard and steady there, and there was a recorded message from the city of Puyallup saying all residents should evacuate their homes due to flooding. They were being a bit ntoo alarmist with that one.Our place is maybe three miles from the river.

Anyway, I'm glad I cleaned out our gutters here ih HPP about three days ago.

How do you manage your house when you aren't on-island? Do you rent it while you're not there?

That's right. We have someone that manages it for us.
