Recommendations for a mechanic?
#1
Got a '98 Honda Odyssey with electrical problems. [Sad] Looking for a an honest mechanic who can revive the beast. Two recommendations received so far:

PRO Machanx (think that's it)
Sam's Auto Electric

Feel free to back up or refute these recommendations. Or suggest someone else?

Mahalo in advance and Happy Holidays! :-)

I am absolutely sold on Nick's Garage on Makaala, opposite side of the highway from Walmart and the mall. 808 935 6838. I like them because they are honest, have very fair prices, and do good work. Tell them Pam Lamont sent you. Smile

Hi Punafish,

What is the nature of your electrical ghost ? Can recommend based on this info.

Also, if you get a chance, would you please let me know what your gas mileage is with this nice 'wagon' @ Big Island speeds ??? Been eyeing one of these early regular 4 doors.

SUPERthanks in advance.

Pog,

The car died while my son was driving it. Couldn't get it started after that (the engine cranked but no cigar). No spark from the ignition module. Thinking the mechanic would need computer diagnostic equipment to isolate the problem.

I love this car; the V-Tech engine is still in great condition, and it can haul 6 adults up to the volcano with power to spare.

Gas mileage? Guessing overall around 20, maybe a little less. On paper it's supposed to be 19 city, 24 highway, 21 combined.

Hope this helps.

Aloha! :-)
Tim
