Punaweb and Poe's Law

You are going to read into what I wrote all you want. But it is the truth. You make moderating a bigger deal than it is. To be honest with you, the only moderating John has done on the Kona Forum is in the Restaurant Review section. He has never had to moderate anything in the adult section, though he has the ability.

You make the adult section sound more than it is. To be honest the adult section allows what I see here on the PW. I see people post the occasional cuss word and I see the occasional off color joke here. The only difference is that I want those types of posts hidden from children who can read the same sort of thing here on the PW. It is a difference in moderating styles. Ask your buddy orchidlandguy. Mostly what we share is dirty jokes, files and we talk about things I deem not appropriate in public for children to see. Sometimes personal sometimes not.

Just like asking John to moderate a forum or two for me, it is not as big a deal as orchidlandguy makes of it. And he sits here complaining how bad it is yet he can't get enough of it because he coming back! LOL!!!! [Big Grin][Big Grin][Big Grin]

KathyH,

I appreciate your trying to help but you are going to be linked with me and John as being "Buddies" and then you'll be called a "bully". It looks like the people who keep calling me a bully but can't quote anything I have said bullying anyone are trying to bully me. And I don't want you to get that treatment. These people are unreasonable and try to link me and John because John has a parody "NAZI link" in his signature and I have an "x-rated website" that children cannot access. It makes no difference to them what the truth is.

This is Punaweb, which is moderated by Rob Tucker, we are all guests here, and other than his chosen advising committee, none of us really have any business making any demands on other members, or calling people out, or telling them what signatures they can use, or otherwise telling people who is welcome here, or what they can and can't say here. That is Rob's job and he does it the way he wants to, or has time for; it would behoove the rest of us to not waste his time playing kindergarten cop.

Carol

Ah, but it matters to me. I'd prefer to be friends with everyone if they wanted that, but I agree or disagree based on what i think, not who is talking.

Speaking of talking, I took oink's post as a joke and my emoticon was for him.

btw, I wish people would just call me Kathy. I only put the H on there because there are so many Kathy's that I've always had to tack on an initial. But when people call me Kathy H when talking to me, it reminds me of back in grade school where there were four Kathy's in a class of 20 kids and we all had to hear our initials constantly. [Smile]

Kathy,
I can beat that, my freshman year in college there were FOUR people with both my first and last name on my dorm floor!

I think I'll jump in here real briefly.

This is a community forum. The topics that are discussed are determined by the members. Discussion is just that. Discussion.
Personally I see this discussion as being quite civil. Expressing different opinions is not a form of bullying. Asking and replying to questions is kind of the Socratic Method.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socratic_Method

No one is required to participate. If someone's chooses to bow out of a discussion that should be respected. Those who participate are not creating problems here that I can see.

I will add that Truth comes in many formats and often lies in the eye of the beholder. Just what Truth is has been a mystery for the ages.

Enjoy.....

Assume the best and ask questions.

LOL Carol, that sure does beat all! [Big Grin]

It's odd that I'm the only Kathy using it as my name here, with that spelling, but I am, so the H is not necessary and I really prefer it if people just use my first name.

Now back to the topic, sorry to go O/T.
Emoticon smiles are not ideal, and easy to overuse, but the truth is that I do smile a lot and I bet the rest of you do too, and it is hard to see, or hear, without some kind of clue. But ha ha or LOL etc.. works too.

Funny to me how almost no one here ever says LMFAOROFL and similar, whereas some sites people are LMAO and ROFL all the time.

I will add a quote from Judge Judy: When you tell the truth you don't have to remember what you tell people.

I was being a rebel and refused to use an emoticon as I thought my intent was obvious, I had faith Dave would recognize the intent without one and I'm sure the ones here that tend to get their panties in a wad over posts obviously intended as humor, would get their drawers wadded up regardless of emoticon.

You get extra credit if you can tell me where I got that from. [Smile]

Oh geeez, if you figure it out I'll probably get attacked for that, too![Wink]
