#11
So... Where does the LACK sell at?? What's the normal cost for a bird? Would be kinda nice to find a good one that is consistently good. Smile Other wise head out to costco get yourself a bird there for 5 bucks and get some huli huli BBQ sauce! Wink

Lack does mainly fundraisers for other groups. Ours is actually one of the smaller ones he does. The birds he uses are almost four pounds each and he cooks them over Ohia coals. He does not soak the birds in BBQ sauce; they are lightly coated and you can deliciously taste the Ohia wood smoke flavor -- Scrumptious -- I don't know what he would sell them for if he wasn't working with organizations that were trying to raise funds but, value wise, the Puna Baptist Church Family Pack is a real deal. Compare it at $29 with KFC's $33 dollar bucket. You'll be a Lack enthusiast from then on.

I wouldn't call $29 for a chicken a "real deal" (aren't they about $10 in the supermarket, ready to eat?) but then again it is for a fundraiser.
Thanks for the info about who is supplying it. I'll pass.

I think the "Family Pack" comes with side orders (and dessert, too, if you pre-order) and isn't just a single chicken. Assuming it would feed four, that's about $7.50 per person. Not bad for carryout, especially when I can't seem to get out of Taco Bell for less than $6.50 anymore.

never feed your dog any cooked bones - they will splinter and cause intestinal perforation

raw bones are ok
