standards like “Feelin' Good.” Don and Amy bring to life songs, arias, and piano works from a wide
variety of styles and musical eras.
Don and Amy love to perform together and solo. Duets and solos from both members of this musical
friendship will delight the audience, have toes tapping, and give everyone something to sing along.
Soprano Amy Horst is known locally for her one-woman shows Show Off, Meet Me At the Moon, and
Bach to Broadway, as well as for her voice teaching and choral conducting; and pianist and tenor Don
Boyd combines years of experience teaching at UH Hilo and in the Atlanta area with performing in
congregations and community events. The two have worked and performed together for nearly a
decade. This concert celebrates their friendship and their shared love of music.
When asked how the duo created Friendship: A Splendiferous Musical Journey, Amy and Don said,
“We wanted to celebrate our friendship. As our lives take us on new musical journeys – Don to
retirement and Amy to further singing and traveling – we want to acknowledge our shared love of
music and share it, one more time, with our friends.”
