Email Virus Alert. HERE YOU HAVE IT- DON'T OPEN IT
#1
PLEASE READ :
Anyone using Internet mail such as Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL and so on. This information arrived this morning. Direct from both Microsoft and Norton. Please send it to everybody you know who has Access to the Internet.
You may receive an apparently harmless e-mail titled; ''HERE YOU HAVE IT", If you open the file, a message will appear on your screen saying: ''IT IS TOO LATE NOW, YOUR LIFE IS NO LONGER BEAUTIFUL, F*** YOU and DIE''....... Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC. And the person who sent it to you will gain access to your Name, e-mail and password, etc. This is a new virus which started to circulate on Saturday afternoon. AOL has already confirmed the severity, and the antivirus software's are not capable of destroying it.
The virus has been created by a hacker who calls himself 'life owner'.
PLEASE SEND A COPY OF THIS E-MAIL TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS, And ask them to PASS IT ON IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

hehe but you get an "A" for effort. Next time do a search on this stuff. The only way your going to get a virus these days if you click on an attachment ...

Never Never NEVER click on attachments from unknown senders or even people if you know if in doubt -- esp if it is an executable .exe file.

As Mdd7000 has already pointed out, Snopes and other sites are a good way to check for hoax emails.

Not true you can become infected just by clicking on the wrong site and browsing.....been there. When in doubt run a good virus scan daily and back up your info. if important.
Play safe and use protection....don't get infected, ha Smile

Yup, unless your running firefox or chrome ... Both have secure sandbox modes for safe browsing even tho 99% of all website attacks exploit out of date Microsoft browsers ... Just switching to chrome and using incognito mode built into chrome will eliminate any worry about visiting sites.

I might add chrome is super fast and is my pick for the best browser on any OS (mac, Linux or Windows)

I once worked for a large company where the new head of computing sent out one of these warnings. Oh how we laughed.
Well intentioned, but still funny.

Here's a recent one:
