Keaau Christmas Parade
#1
December 10th!!

Last year I hosted a Cookie Exchange.[:p] Had several EZ-Ups with Christmas lights. There was hot coco and marshmallows[Big Grin] served (even smelled some peppermint schnapps in the air!)[:0] and everybody out did them selves with veriety the cookies (and some homemade candies) they brought to share. There was about 40 people last year! Most everyone was under the EZ-Ups and out of the rain. Had the generator running to keep the festive light shinning and cozy.[^]

For last years parade we (help from Jim, Carey, and others)had 4-5 EZ-Ups set up on the Old Volcano Road, right across the street from the Kea'au Farmer's Market. It takes the parade awhile to get there but the parking in that area is easy and close to restrooms and other amenities. I'm planning to be in the same place but will be looking at alternate sites that may be a little bit more level. I'll post again if there is any change to the venue.

I'm not associated in anyway with Kea'au or the parade people. Just had a lot of fun doing it last year and thought I'd try it once more.[Wink] If you do come to enjoy, please bring your chairs and HOPEFULLY homemade cookies to share. Also bring your cookies in a reusable container because at the end of the parade everyone can take some of the left over cookies home to dip into your Sunday morning coffee![:p][Big Grin]

Here is a link ( http://kybc808.com/CMS/kybc-news.html )to this years parade date and information site. If you want to be in the parade, you have until the 31st of October.

By the way, if you would like to help offset the cost of the milk, coco, and cups, with donations, just let me know.[Smile] This is NOT a low fat/no sugar party LOL!![:0][xx(][:p] If you have dietary concerns you'll have to plan for that or bring plenty meds!![Wink]

Call me at 982-8950 for further information or to donate stuff!

Tempting. Very, very tempting. I can't cook, but I can read recipes and follow them. I am thinking of a cookie. Do you know what it is? Thank you for organizing and announcing this, Royall!

Yeah, I guess I did jump the gun a bit EF![Big Grin] Time has a way of getting away from me at times and if I didn't post it now, I may have blinked twice and it would have been too late LOL!![:0] Anyway, It will give people time to put it on their calendar so they don't plan something else for that afternoon/evening.[Wink][Big Grin]

Like my grandad told me once..... "Spit in one hand, and wish in the other and see which one fills up the quickest". I think he used "spit" since I was a little boy at the time!LOL[:0][Wink][Big Grin]

You could "wish apon a star",[Smile] but that never got me anywhere fast![Sad!]

Sorry we'll miss you EF. Like to meet you sometime!

So if I bring a tray of Bear's coconut oatmeal macaroons to share, I can eat till I get sick and have to be carried home in a wheelbarrow? Sounds like a plan to me. Cheers!

If you are carried home in a wheelbarrow, it could be the charivari you never had! I gotta be there for that.
