#1
Are many of you familair with Manuka Honey? Read about it. Quite a incredible stuff. It sells for about 28 bucks for 16 ounce jar at that natural foods store on Kiluea. Its a "BIO LIFE" Honey and it is incredible for digestive system and is so antisepic that you can heal a wound by covering it with this honey. Made in New Zealnd! Look it up in your spare time.

Dr. Oz likes Manuka honey too (http://www.drozfans.com/dr-ozs-advice/dr...-oil-lips/)

Dr Oz gave several simple, inexpensive Beauty Remedies on his show that can help to take 10 years off of your face. Manuka Honey is used in hospitals to treat wounds that have trouble healing, and the very same ingredient can help to reduce the appearance of your fine lines and wrinkes! Here is how you do the Home Remedy:

Dr Oz: Manuka Honey Facial

Directions:

1. To exfoliate your skin, apply a layer of Manuka Honey onto your face.
2. Let the Manuka Honey sit for 10-20 minutes.
3. Wash your face off with lukewarm water.
4. Follow-up with a moisturizer.

Interesting article on using honey as an antiseptic. Apparently it's related to hydrogen peroxide generated from an enzyme the bees add, as well as chemicals from the manuka nectar. It seems like the amounts of each would be very small so I'm a little skeptical of the explanation, but it's interesting to see.

It is very good too. Manuka is the Maori name for tea tree, which is invasive in Hawaii in some places (it looks similar to pukiawe, but with longer and narrower leaves). If you can find buckwheat honey, that's another good one, with a very distinct flavor.

I've been reading about it for the past few weeks as I was told about the health benefits. Apparently it has high levels of antioxidants which is good for the skin and digestive system. There is a lot more about it at http://www.manukahoneybenefit.com/
