Joy San Buenaventura, a resident of Hawaiian Paradise Park and practicing attorney here in East Hawaii for the past 30 years, is running against her. A get-to-know her dance party is being held this Saturday at Kea'au Eagles Club from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are $10 (her first fundraiser) but instead of lengthy political speeches, the night's gonna feature a great dance band, IBIS, featuring 4-time Na Hoku nominee Dave Seawater, and two of the funniest comediennes on the planet, T&A: A Lei of Laughter. And all we've gotten is positive response to her candidacy. The incumbent is currently in her 4th term....if she was on the county council, she'd have a term limit but the legislature refuses to pass term limits on themselves (go figure!) Without being negative, after 4 terms, I'd say it's time for a change ;D
