This is a slight derail! ie, this is not related to the 8:42ish event!
I had almost missed the fact that BEFORE this, there was an unusually large number of small quakes this morning, beginning around 1am & ending around 7am (over 1/2 of the 2 week total was from this morning....) The HVO does have this on their status watch:

I heard it in Eden Roc, definitely dynamite'ish in nature. I thought the guy in Kapoho Farms finally dug himself a cesspool as he'd been threatening to do with dynamite instead of paying some guy $2,500.

Dynamite was used for cesspools etc in HPP as late as 1989, so not as unlikely as it may seem.

A friend did hers in HA with dynamite (but legally) in 2006 or 2007.

The only place it could go was into bluerock and the big hammer thingy wasnt getting anywhere.

My hubby said the same thing - dynamite for a cesspool maybe.

I live in Leilani Estates and I sure felt it at 8:42am. First there was a really loud kaboom...then my windows rattled...then the window curtains swayed back and forth (all in sequential order). Really usual for an "earthquake"!!!
