Just a reminder for those of us who need to dig our holes (how I limit the plants we buy - dig the holes BEFORE we go...and only buy plants for the holes dug...)
The BIAN at edith Kanaka`ole Stadium is coming up next weekend
and the Plant It Hawaii Sale, at their nursery yards in Kurtistown, is Easter Weekend, April 6 & 7th
so tis week I must dig some!

I don't remember if they take plastic at the BIAN sale. Do they? I know that there is cash/check only at my first Plant it Hawaii sale, so I was forced to purchase way less than I would have liked.

They have in the past, but it was in a separate (much longer) line...so be aware when you get in line to pay....
unfortunately their website has not been modified since Sept, so there is only the fall sale flyer info... nothing more recent... but you may try their contacts:

The sale is tonight & all day Saturday, Late afternoon/evening activities on Friday allow those who work weekdays in Hilo the opportunity to go after work without going home (a travel saving for those in more remote areas) and the Saturday sale makes it convenient for those weekend day shoppers.
Also remember that the BIAN members that are sellers may have weekday jobs, and/or hire extra help for the sale, so the hours are also for the vendors...

Ok.That makes sense except the Saturday sale conflicts with the Breadfruit Festival. : ) See you there? And wait a minute....is the BIAN sale actually a good thing, or is it the Planet Hawaii sale that sends gardeners into a frenzy of anticipation?
