This was such an interesting article. We were being driven crazy by the couple in the house on the corner with several dogs...lately they are not barking much at all. I noticed they are not trapped in their cages and are on leads where they can wander a little. That's a good thing.

It's easier to sleep. [Smile]

This must have been one of those light entertaining type articles. I know I can't imagine living in the country without a dog. Also I don't understand how those dogs could be worse than coqui frogs?

This is a step in the right direction. I have live next door to a neighbor that has a puppy tied up to his deck and it cries horrific cries all day and all night for the last 3 weeks. I called the shelter and they came out just to call me and tell me, {When a puppy is tied up that what it does it cries). WHAT. So they identified the problem and still did not do anything. I am about to go out of my mind. 1, wanting someone to rescue a pup that is new to this world and all it is knowing is being tied on a very short lead to a deck. 2, I just want some sleep. It has been quiet for about two days due the neighbor is home. I dread the next time he leaves for the day. It is so sad and makes my heart ache and my stomach sick to know that this precious baby is going to be tied up to a post all off it's life.

Isn't that what people want? Dogs tied up?

Sadly there are tons of dogs with owners that have no time to care for or dedicate to an animal and therefor do not deserve to have a dog. I see a lot of dogs that are tied up on a short chain. My neighbor has two big pit's that are in a 4x4 kennel on concrete. Only goes out to hose out the crap and fill the food / water. Never takes em out for walks they just stay there till they die.

What ya gonna do? I suppose you could send them a letter or get together with other neighbors to figure out something to do. Dunno. No real easy answer. Karma comes back to us all...
