Bringing equipment over
#1
Hi all. Was wondering what the Ag Dept. Opinion is on bringing used, steam cleaned garden equipment such as garden tractor w/mower, weed whacker, chainsaws, power pruners and clean cabinet shop equipment? Thinking of expanding operations here and have some Ohana surplus garden equipment to add to the bin. Thanks in advance!

10 years ago I shipped all sorts of gardening equipment over....tiller, hand tools, shredder, etc. I just washed them first with a hose. I had no problem.

Used ag equip gets shipped over here all the time. It's supposed to be washed first, but sadly, much of it still had mud and weed seeds on it. Thus new invasives get over here on bulldozers, tractors, backhoes, etc all the time.

Thank you, Kaufarmer. I am ever paranoid about invasive Ag species taking over, have enough trouble with the jungle, and will take bugs and other stuff over poison oak and thistle any day. Actually very nervous about Canadian Star Thistle, it seems to invade cattle grasslands and really wreak havoc. Do not want it seen up country.
