@Obie,
That's exactly what I did, stupid me. But, now I know where to go if my STIHL acts up. Thanks Rob http://www.icompositions.com/artists/jlgerk

Yeah, I thought Obie had some good advice there.

What model Stihl do you have? I am a retired stihl mechanic and I rebuild or repair them if you ever need it. Make sure you keep your mixed gas correct. Many get frozen due to using just plain gas without oil. Glad yours was a simple fix. I have a bunch of stihl MS 192T saws, and some larger ones. That is a nice small arborist saw and very light but amazingly powerful.

I have a #029 Super , 20" exposed bar, 10/12 years old. Cut many a cord of Cedar and Pine over the years without any probs. I just had it shipped over from Calif and took the bar off and had to put the brake on to fit in the box I made for it, and I forgot about the brake when I unpacked it. Good to know we have a Pro here to fix it, but, I "hope" I don't need to. http://www.icompositions.com/artists/jlgerk

yes, that Stihl 029 Super is a very nice saw, I have a couple myself and they are actually getting kind of rare and are sought after by many collectors. Dont feel too bad about forgetting the brake was on, I have done the same thing, before my cup of coffee.
