Thanks Rob. Political fanatics are tiresome, especially when it's nothing to do with Hawaii.
I would tend to agree. However, I'm fairly leery of labeling "political fanatics". Who gets to do the labeling? As long as it's me that gets to do the labeling I'm all good with it.

i forgot...this power brokering isn't happening in Hawaii...may not be a single congressman or representative of Hawaii who would stand up for his/her constituents the way this fella did so..has nothing to do with your Hawaii

If someone joins a message board and one of the first things they do is post a video to a political speech given thousands of miles away and title it "this guy tells it like it is" = political fanatic.

I haven't seen the video and I don't know who "this guy" is so it's not a partisan thing. Political fanatics of all colors are tiresome.

gramps,

Rob gives posters a lot of leeway regarding Punaweb's local issues only policy, but as he said, there must be a direct, local angle to the post.

Make your comments specific to our area and you will find this the most welcoming community website online, imho.

I haven't seen the video speech either, nor do I plan to, but I don't think I'll assign a label based on one post I'm not interested in. Hows about the judgmental label. Hmmm, does that now make me judgmental?

Heh...I saw this a while ago but didn't watch the video until now. For those who haven't seen it and don't know what it's about, it's an Illinois state rep who's upset about some procedural snafu and goes full Howard Beale, screaming and throwing papers around.

What gramps is referring to is an Illinois legislator who was upset that legislators in his home state of Illinois were given 200+ pages of material to read about major changes to a bill they had spent a year working on. The legislator in question was upset because they were being asked to vote on a bill yet not given enough time to review substantial changes to said bill.

Has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with Hawaii in any way shape of form. Rob was right for deleting a post that had nothing to do with Puna much less Hawaii.

Maybe gramps is a newbie and should be given the benefit of the doubt, or maybe more likely he is a long time Punatic and created a new alias to promote his own rantings. Gotten cynical being on Punaweb a while.
