What's a Zippy's? Or What kind fare is Zippy's? Another McD's?

Zippy's has upped the ante from what they used to be with fast food, Hawaiian style. Pretty big menu, reasonable prices, great bakery goods especially if Napolean's Bakery is coming along with. My recent Oahu experiences have been quick, fast, and good.

Hmmmmm, Looked at the menu.... Sounds like a corporate owned version of Ken'S.........

They had some decent items on their menu when I tried them on Oahu. Just avoid the way too sweet chili. It's ghastly!

Sad, Just another JUNK food place. I tried Zippy's on Oahu once. Never again. YUK.
One Thing I can always be sure of is that things will never go as expected.

I was never really impressed by their restaurant but, Zippy's use to have 5 years ago or maybe more and on-line website where they sold many Hawaiian made products mostly foodstuffs. I miss that! Wish they would do this again and forget the restaurant.

Royall - Zippy's is NOT McD's. How do you know about Ken's but call Zippy's a McDonalds? It's an institution in Hawaii.

Plus it was in the news that Zippy's got an award for using local beef. Since I don't eat a lot of loco moco or chili, I haven't eaten there a lot on other islands, but with 26 stores they use a lot of beef. And that's good for all the local ranches they buy from. And I'm all for any company that is supporting local businesses on the Big Isle.

Ah, Spunky, re-read my post please. I was asking "what" Zippy's was and only guessing at it's nature. I've never heard of it before.
