maukamakai... while I respect your opinion and heritage, the facts are that "native" hawaiians stole this land as well... and they did it by force... so just because a bigger dog came and stole the bone you had already stolen, doesn't give you the right to be upset and demand it back.

Maukamakai, here is some history:

Kamehameha III changed how land was used in Hawaii in what is called "The Great Mehele" allowing foreigners to own land.

So..... whose fault is it that Hawaiian culture has diminished? Certainly not the foreigners...

Look, I LOVE Hawaiian culture. But what I love about it is how LOVING it is. How I, a haole, can be welcomed into a family that has no ties to it. And treated as if I had been there all along. But you don't sound that way... you sound bitter, upset and unreasonable or at the very least uninterested in looking at all the facts.

BTW when Hawaii became a state... was that by force or by vote?
