Concert in Hilo Wed. 9/12
#1
Come spend an evening with Rushad Eggleston, a brilliant fiddle style improvisational cellist. Eggleston will be performing three concerts around Hawai`I Island this week.

Eggleston is an amazing and inspiring cellist and entertainer. He was the first string student to receive a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston. He was a member of the Grammy-nominated group Fiddler's 4 with Michael Doucet, Darol Anger and Bruce Molsky. Rushad has performed around US and abroad, including Carnegie Hall in New York.

Hilo Concert at Church of the Holy Apostles - Wednesday, Sept. 12, 7:30pm artist reception with pupus, music starts at 8:00pm. This will be a full-length concert. To offset artist travel expenses, please donate for the performance. Students free. The Church is at 1407 Kapiolani St. Hilo, below UH-Hilo on Kapiolani St. Call 982-7292 email: cyost@hawaii.edu

I had not heard of Rushad before yesterday, Sunday.

For those who do not like staid dry concert cello, Rushad definitely does not fit that bill - He plays alternative folk/bluegrass (with Crooked Still), experimental (Wild Band of Snee) , electric (Tornado Rider) and even some classical cello, and has performed in many venues, including Burning Man, SpringFest and Magnolia Festival, and will be featured in an ad for next years new Mazda. He has even performed hanging upside down from the rafters of a performance tent, playing cello.... So Hilo is in for a treat - although he probably will not be hanging from the rafters at this concert!
