Why Ford of all people has not come forward and grabbed the "bull" by the horns and toss Yagong and his inept Clerk under the bus is beyond comprehension.
I think if she had done that, it would cement her reelection and appointment to the next Council's Chair.
At this point, I highly doubt her reelection.
Apparently Yagong, as demonstrated at his ethics hearing, likes to play in the mud. Well Ms. Ford, get into the mud pit and toss this pig and his inept clerk onto the trash heap and show some intellectual leadership for once!
Yagong is finished. He does not have to “bury” anyone. He “buried” himself.

FYI: Another take on the lastest "MIA" from the clerk.

What is the alleged accusation against a "taxedtodeath" who supposedly gained access to one of the County computers?? Is this what the clerk reported to the police regarding the 2010 election, or is it pure rumor???
WTH is going on!?!?!?
Something is terribly amiss. What is it? Will we ever know? Between Yagong and the clerk, there is something that just doesn't seem right. Heck, it flat out stinks.
Thanks to the other council members for turning a blind eye, and not doing anything to correct this situation. I have NO confidence, at this point, in the running of the general election. NONE!

What does not make much sense, is that if you read a majority of posts that whoever "taxedtodeath" really is has made, he/she seems to be a huge Yagong/Clerk fan - to the point of more or less saying everything these two have done is perfect and sunshine and lollipops.
Why would the Clerk turn in one of her own????
Or perhaps, maybe throw another peon under the bus in an attempt to save her own ass??

Ken, in addition, she claims it stems from the 2010 election??? WTH?
Some people I have spoken to know who "taxedtodeath" is, and can't understand what she is doing? As you stated, that person is one of their biggest cheerleaders! Makes no sense, like the rest of this debacle.
All in all, Yagong is pau. This will be his "swan song" in local politics. He's done. Thankfully. Taking his clerk with him. What a legacy, huh?
Will the ethics complaint against Yagong be the catalyst to have him removed as Chair? Clerk removed from election supervision? Will the State step in once Ethics ruling is made? Criminy(sp?)sakes!
Wikipedia searches for Yagong & Kawauchi in the future will pull up "leader of the biggest scandal/screw up in Hawaii County election history"!
Ugh!

pahoated: Good bloody question (re: State stepping in)!
Apparently, CNN will be here covering our general election. Now we're getting national coverage with this ridiculous situation.
Thanks alot, Yagong. He's probably going to enjoy being interviewed by CNN!

FYI: Board of Ethics Agenda for Wed. 10/10 at 10:00am.
Interesting list of items to be discussed, including, Yagong's complaint (Round #2):

(*Snipped)
The county Board of Ethics today deadlocked on whether it should pursue an investigation into whether County Council Chairman Dominic Yagong may have been inappropriately involved in the operations of the county Elections Division.
(*Rolling my eyes)
I guess the Clerk and Chairman are becoming the equivalent of how some families have that one odd ball member, who generally ruins any family get together and yet no one will step up and say STOP! - ENOUGH!
But when that odd ball family member is gone, everyone says something must be done – but nobody does anything!
I guess we will just have to live with this arrogant, ignorant stupid Chairman and his grossly inept Clerk until the very last day.
And when Ford is on the outside looking in on that fateful December day, I bet then and only then will she say - "we should have stopped this."
On the outside chance she gets reelected, hopefully she will have to sign the wrongful termination settlement checks.
Perhaps maybe then she will say "we should have stopped this."
But the redeeming thing in all of this will be that we will never, ever have to put up with ole Bellicose Dom anymore!
