USGS geologist doesn't like Puna
#1
Maybe it was in jest to close the presentation or maybe he is referring to the area in general or in reference to living around the geothermal plant, he says "I don't like the area" at 6:35 in the video. He came across being more than a little off, since he made the statement based on anecdotes he had heard and he has never been in the area. Not very scientific.

He might just have been miffed that there are no golf courses..... something I've always appreciated about Puna.
Assume the best and ask questions.

[Big Grin] No golf courses!, No wonder we are going to move to Puna, I can't think of anything I would like to do less than golf....Good for the community in keeping a menace out of your area....

If I want to hunt for something I will organize an easter egg hunt, I spent 40+ years working trying to find things![:p]

You guy's rock![8D][8D][8D][8D]

In my opinion it is inhumane to hunt Axis deer with a golf ball or nine iron....... could not pass this one up - sorry

It's hard to golf while holding an umbrella.

If the caddy can carry the beer in Maui - 'cant see why he cant hold on to the umbrella in Puna, its all part of the game.

Thats what is so cool about being in the boonies - yet an hour away from world class resorts. Hawaiian is very decent about frequent flyer miles as well.

Lets hope the new turboprops bring the rates down a bit on the short hops.

Golfing in the rain is a lot of fun and we don't really have lightning here so that makes it safer.
