I got a chuckle out of the post from "Chas" about the interesting sightings in Puna District:

"You can see a guy in Malama market with not only no shirt and shoes, but wearing nothing but palm and ti leaves!
Really!"

What are ti leaves, and how was this item designed and used in making the garment?

Any other actual observations of strange and eclectic dress (or undress) in this fascinating part of Hawaii? Do tell![8D]

Yesterday I saw a guy riding a moped wearing a snorkeling mask.

I only saw him from a distance in the parking lot. The ladies working in the store said it was ti leaves and/or Palm leaves. Wish I would've gotten a picture, he was really proud of it. He said something about having to do his laundry. Guess that is a way to wash ALL your clothes at once!
